1. WHAT DOES A DECORATOR DO?

A decorator does all of the research and legwork for you, using training and years of experience to help you choose paint colors, textures, furniture, fabrics, flooring, lighting, accessories, and window treatments. Anything that relates to decorating your home-they can help! A decorator’s goal is to unlock your personal style and help you incorporate what you love into a house that suits you perfectly.

2. INITIAL CONSULATION

You will receive a 30 minute free consultation at the site. This is so we can determine your tastes, lifestyle, goals, likes, dislikes and intended use of the space. We also cover the proposed timeline, budget, rooms to be included in the project, preferred colors, style preferences in connection with the project, as well as take pictures of the area. **WE DO NOT GIVE INTERIOR DESIGN ADVICE AT THIS MEETING**

3. ESTIMATED PROPOSAL

Within 48hrs after your appointment you will receive an estimated proposal for the Interior Decorating Services. We will either bill the client with a fixed fee for the entire project or by an hourly rate. Once the client signs the proposal, they will email that back to Drab to Fab Decorating. Everything that was discussed at the initial meeting will be outlined in this proposal as well as the terms for payment.

4. SPACE MEASUREMENT

(may not require this step).

We would come back out and take measurements as well as detailed pictures of the space. We would additionally schedule various contractors to come out and prepare bids for the proposed project.

5. WE CREATE A ROOM ILLUSTRATION

(normally requires 2 weeks)

The room illustration will be a broad view of the following items: an overall layout of the room, picking a color palette, finding distinctive wallpapers or faux finishes, choosing flooring, carpeting/area rugs/tile, finding the right scale furnishings as well as the fabrics, coordinating the accessories, window treatment options as well as contractors to perform the desired work.

6. MEETING REVIEW

We schedule an hour meeting to review the overall design concept. At this meeting you will receive a layout of the room furnishings, as well as an itemized breakdown of each item with the cost, and fabric samples (if available). Any modifications would be discussed at this meeting. This meeting help you to truly visualize what your finished design will look like.

7. BIDS FROM VARIOUS CONTRACTORS

(may not require this step)

At this phase we prepare estimates for competitive bids or negotiated proposals from a selected list of general contractors or project managers. Once the bids are received, we analyze the results and coordinate the contracts and terms between the client and the selected contractor.

8. IMPLEMENT DESIGN:

In this final phase, we will be coordinating and working with the contractors to get their jobs completed. We will coordinate furniture deliveries and set-up, as well staging the room per plan. We keep you up to date with accurate accounts of purchases/receipts and billing to keep you on time and within your budget!

9. THE BIG REVEAL:

This is an awesome time when you get to see the overall concept put together, effortlessly and on budget! We will take after pictures of the project that may be showcased on our website and Houzz.
